Alexandra's Army Internet Safety Workshop

2224 East 3rd Street, Bloomington, IN 47401
No tickets are available at this time.

Because Alexandra’s Army believes in the importance of parent-child dialogue regarding technology, we have obtained a grant in order to bring a national expert in to provide a one-day FREE workshop for program participants as well as friends of the organization.

We ask that a parent attend as well as student; they will be in separte classes. Child care is provided during the parent Workshop.

If you have multiple children, please register one parent with one student per grade grouping, and register each other child for that same age grouping separately.

Participation ion the 2023 Alexandra's Army Community Food Drive is NOT required in order to participate in the workshop!

The Internet Safety presentations are structured for students and parents in such a way as to facilitate conversations at home. During the workshop, our facilitator will lead the presentation for students that relate to the devices, software, websites, and applications they are using (both in school and at home), and specifically touch upon cultural implications and the potential harms that come with Internet usage.

A variety of issues are discussed, including social media, over-exposure, online predators, and cyberbullying – just to name a few. That same day, there will be an Internet Safety presentation for parents and teach them about how today’s children are interacting online, the positive and negative implications of technology, and how we can parent with more understanding of technology for our families.
